CMP Group: Toward Achieving Carbon Neutrality

The impact of climate change on the natural environment and society is growing and becoming more severe every year. The world is moving toward achieving carbon neutrality in accordance with the Paris Agreement and the Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The CMP Group will join the global movement and strengthen its efforts to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality for society as a whole.

CMP Group GHG Emission Reduction Targets

2050 :

Aim to achieve carbon neutrality

2030 :

Aim to reduce GHG emissions by 45% (compared to FY2021)

(Scope 1 and 2)

In addition to reducing GHG emissions from our own business activities, we believe it is important to reduce GHG emissions across society through the provision of our products. The CMP Group will accomplish this by working on the following two aspects.

1. Reduce in-house GHG emissions

  • Promote procurement of CO2-free electricity
  • Introduce solar power and other renewable energy power generation
  • Convert to low-carbon fuels
  • Promote procurement of carbon neutral fuels
  • Promote thorough energy conservation through measures such as improving production efficiency and upgrading aging facilities

2. Help reduce GHG emissions in society through products with environmental contribution value

  • Provide products that help energy conservation
  • Provide services that help achieve a circular economy
  • Provide products that help customers reduce CO2 emissions in their supply chains
